Measurable SAP Process Optimization in Manufacturing

Scheer Manufacturing Excellence identifies untapped potential in service, production, and logistics

Many established SAP landscapes still falling short across various key process areas.

    • Process and system structures that have grown over time
    • Media discontinuities and manual interim steps
    • Inconsistent master data quality
    • Inefficient user processes and unclear responsibilities
    • Lack of transparency into actual process flows
    • Unclear prerequisites for SAP Business AI
    • Regulatory requirements such as e-invoicing
    • No clear prioritization of specific optimization opportunities

    Our focus areas

Untapped potential in production, logistics, and service directly affects efficiency, transparency, and competitiveness. With Scheer Manufacturing Excellence, we help companies make that potential visible, assess it in a structured way, and turn these improvements into measurable results.

    Service

Optimization of service processes, cycle times, system usage, data quality, and end-to-end process stability.

    Warehouse and transport logistics

Transparency into material flows, warehouse processes, transport execution, interfaces, and operational efficiency.

    Procurement / Purchasing

Optional as a fifth focus area, subject to confirmation of relevance and potential for customer outreach.

    Production / DMC

Analysis and improvement of production-related workflows, digital manufacturing processes, and SAP DMC-relevant process chains.

    Service e-invoicing

Assessment and implementation of regulatory requirements related to e-invoicing in service and billing environments.

    Cross-functional SAP process optimization

Combining business process analysis with architecture, data, and innovation perspectives.

    Our approach

    • 1. Assessment (Weeks 1–4)

Content: Setup of the process analysis tool; execution of process mining; analysis of relevant KPIs; benchmarking against industry peers; selection of relevant process areas.

Outcome: Recommendation of the process areas to optimize, such as service, production, or warehouse and logistics.

    • 2. Analysis (Weeks 5-8)

Content: Business assessment of process flows; analysis of system breaks; review of responsibilities and user efficiency; analysis of master data quality; review of system architecture; assessment of AI readiness and innovation topics.

Outcome: Recommendation of specific and actionable optimization opportunities.

    • 3. Optimization & implementation (From week 9 onward)

Content: Prioritization of measures; planning and realization of optimization opportunities; technical implementation, for example via SAP BTP; implementation of legal requirements, such as e-invoicing; ongoing optimization and further development.

Outcome: Optimized processes with measurable success.

Tailor your focus to suit your requirements

These additional focus areas can be included in the analysis and implementation depending on the optimization needs identified.

    Enterprise Architecture Management

Assessment and further development of SAP and IT architecture in the context of S/4HANA and innovation.

    AI Adoption & Enablement

Assessment and enablement for SAP Business AI and relevant AI use cases.

Manufacturing excellence — why Scheer IDS?

With Scheer IDS, companies gain transparency into their actual process flows and receive an objective basis for evaluating performance through process mining and KPI benchmarking. This makes optimization opportunities visible and helps prioritize them effectively.

Better use of existing SAP investments, fewer process breaks and manual activities, and higher data quality all improve process efficiency in a lasting way. At the same time, companies create the conditions for SAP Business AI, S/4HANA innovation, and reliable compliance with regulatory requirements, for example in e-invoicing.

The focus is on measurable implementation, not analysis alone. This creates the foundation for an ongoing optimization partnership with lasting value.
